My Hero, My Grandpa

This post is all about one of my favorite people in the whole world, he is also one of my biggest heros, and one of my biggest fans. My Grandpa has always believed in me, and always encouraged me to keep trying, and to work hard at everything I did.

Growing up I was able to spend a lot of time with my Grandpa. When my older cousins moved away I became my Grandpa's main helper. I helped with everything from hauling hay,moving pipe, irrigating, mechanic work, doctoring cows, to helping him on the computer. And every once in a while we would go to Vernal and get a Whopper from Burger King. And although a lot of times the work was hard and I would go home exhausted, when I look back on all those hours I spent with Grandpa those are very fond memories. I learned so much from him, some are skills like; changing and patching a tire, changing the oil in a car, giving shots to cows, welding, lots of things car engines, and so many more. And alot of the things I learned are characteristics and qualities, some are things he knew he was teaching me like;the importance of hard work, persistence, and having a good attitude. But some are things I learned from just being around him like; honesty, love, patience and generosity, and a little bit of stubborn-ness.

One of the my many memories that I remember fondly is my High School Graduation. For those who don't know my Grandpa he has a very small stubborn streak, and does not really like going to public functions like graduations, weddings,etc. (of which he has been to very few) And I have always known this about my grandpa but I still gave him an invitation and went to his house the day of graduation and invited him personally. I didn't really think he would come but I wanted to invite him. And when I went up to recieve my diploma I looked at my family in the audience and saw my grandpa sitting with them with a smile on his face. I was so excited to see that he had come for me, It instantly brought tears to my eyes. I don't know if he realized how much it meant to me that he came.

My grandpa is an amazing man he can do anything, he can fix anything, he is one of the hardest working, most coruageous, honest, funny , loving people I know, and probably ever will know. There are'nt many genuinly good people in this world but my grandpa is deffinately one of the few. He is my hero, he is my Grandpa.

I love you Grandpa, I miss you and I can't wait to see you and give you a big hug and kiss!

Meet dumpster diver Brookie, she is definitely her great grandma Harding's granddaughter. Dumpster diving runs in her blood, she is doing u proud grandma. For those of you who don't know my grandma and have no idea what this post is about, let me explain. My grandma is an amazing artist, she is a very talented painter and has been involved in teaching art to many children. When I was in high school she was teaching art to some elementary school children and i believe she had to use her own materials and resources. So my grandma would go around town and and get boxes out of the dumpsters to use as canvas' for the kids to paint on. Soon she was know around town as Dumpster Diver Geri and she was very proud of it. For those who don't know my grandma she is quite small she measures in at 4ft 11in (oops sorry grandma I forgot it's 4ft 11 7/16in. But for as small as she is she has a huge presence(and she usually makes her presence known), she is one of the friendliest, funniest, most passionate, honest, thrifty, caring, brave, strong, wise, fun, talented, stubborn, inventive people I know and I hope some day I can be like her. So this is for you grandma. LOVE YOU.

Dallas trip

I surprised Cole with tickets to UFC 103 in Dallas for his birthday. Well at least I think I surprised him, he usually snoops and figures out what his presents are. But I told him that if he figured out what it was I would give it to someone else so.......... I may never know the truth. Anyways, it was lots of fun, we went with some good friends of ours. It was cool to be there at the fights (althought there were a few upsets)and Dallas is gorgeous, i think i could live there. We also went to Dealey Plaza, the Galleria Mall, and this awesome little breakfast place called The Original Pancake House. All in all it was a good trip.

She took her first steps right before her birthday, but since then has refused to walk. Whenever we would try to get her to walk she would squirm, and kick and bow her back and throw a fit. A few weeks ago she stood up and walked right across the kitchen, but then wouldn't do it again when we tried to get her to. This weekend she just took off walking everywhere, I think we may be in for trouble...

I know I know it has been way to long since I have posted anything. I am working on it. Well since my last post Brooke Lynn turned 1, Jordan turned $ and Cole and I had our 5th Anniversary. And we moved to Portales, New Mexico. Cole was offered to manager position at the bookstore at ENMU and he took it, so we have to be here for like 2 years, then he gets the store at Texas Tech. It is only 100 miles from Lubbock so we go home every weekend, to see Cole's fam, and of course go out on the boat. Jordan and Brooke both love the water, last week Jordan knee boarded all by himself! Sorry about the picture overload but i need to catch up for the last 9 months lol.

The other day on our way home from church Cole kept calling Jordan Pancho and Jordan was getting so mad. Well I guess I better explain that first. Ok so Cole's grandma Johnson came to visit when Jordan was almost 2 and she kept calling him Pancho, I don't know why but he hated it. And every time he would scream "no" at her and try to kick her. Then Jordan, me and Cole's sister Alex flew out to Utah with grandma Johnson when she went back. Jordan and I sat in the middle between them and Grandma kept tickling him and calling him Pancho, and he kept screaming and swinging his leg over there trying to kick her. Oh I failed to mention that grandma Johnson is hard of hearing so she did not realize how loud he was screaming, but it was loud and we were on the plane and people were giving us dirty looks. So the next flight Alex had to sit between Grandma and Jordan so someone was not hurt. So now we all will call him Pancho and he will yell "no I not Pancho I Jordan". But this time when Cole called him Pancho, he said "no not Pancho I'm Jordan Thomath Johnthon" (he has a little bit of a lisp). So we were trying to get him to say our full names "so I said Jordan can you say Gregory Cole Johnson" (p.s. Cole loves it when you call him Gregory, lol not really but I think its funny) Anyways Jordan kinda Stumbled with Gregory and I think he kind of forgot what he was supposed to say so he started filling in the blanks he said "Gggrrregoryyy .....Sssspongebob....daddy Cole daddy Johnthon". We were Laughing so hard. He is a funny kid

My friend Tera had her baby girl Abby exactly 1 week after I had Brooke Lynn. We decided that they were going to be best friends before they were even born. And then after they were born we noticed that they looked a lot alike, except Abby had chubbier cheeks and more hair. Tera and I bought the same blessing dresses for them and they were blessed on the same day. Here is a picture of them next to each other on their blessing day. (Brooke is the one on the left)

Jordan's cake for his 2nd birthday, dirt, worms and bulldozer what 2 year old wouldn't love that.

This year was a little more difficult. Those of you who know Jordan know that he is obsessed with spongebob. So I had the brilliant idea to make him this awesome spongebob cake. It turned out really well, but it took me like 3 hours to cut put together and decorate, I almost felt like crying when we had to cut it. I wonder what kind of a cake Jordan will request next year.

Jordan loved his cake, he didn't want to wait for his party he just wanted to eat it.

Jordan loves his baby sister

Jordan is so sweet with Brooke he is always asking to hold her and kissing and hugging on her. And whenever he hears her crying he says oh my baby siser is cwying go get her, or go feed her. He calls her Bwookwee, Bwook wynn, Bwook, and baby. He is a great big brother whenever we are driving in the car and she starts crying he will sing to her and tell her "don't cry Bwookwee i'm here I got you, its me Jordan", it is way to cute. And he is quite protective of her, our first day back at work when we walked in the door he stood in front of me and Brooke with his arms out and said "no kids go stay away from my baby siser, dont touch you give her germs". A couple days before I had her I was telling him that his baby sister was going to come, he was so excited he said "oh and she play with me and we dig for worms"? They will have so much fun together when she is big enough to play with him. But it makes me sad to think about it because they are both growing up so fast. It seems like only yesterday it was Jordan who was my tiny wiggly little baby, but now he is so big and grown up. Sometimes I jus wish they could stay tiny and snuggly forever.

Ok now to tell you about Brooke. Brooke Lynn was born June 19th, at 11:34am she weighed 7 lbs 2 oz, and was 19in long. I am amazed at the difference between her and Jordan when he was a baby. He had colic and hardly ever slept and ate constantly and yet he was always in the bottom 5th percentile for weight. Brooke sleeps alot in fact she has slept through the night all on her own since she was 5 weeks old. She eats a lot and she is so chubby, at her 2 month appointment she weighed 11 lbs 2 oz, she gained a full 4 LBS since she was born. She is in the 50th percentile for weight which is normal but she just seems so big from what Jordy was. He did not weigh that much till he was almost 5 months old lol. She is starting to smile and coo and Cole gets her to giggle all the time. She is going to be a daddy's girl, she has got him wrapped around her little finger. It is so cute to watch him play with Brookie and Jordy he is such a good daddy, I love him so much.

I have often wondered if I had a green thumb or if the only reason things that I helped plant at home grew, was because mom has such a green thumb. But I am happy to report that my own little garden is actually growing, and that by some miracle it has survived Jordy. Here he is picking my very first cherry tomato.

Cole decided it was time for Jordy to follow in his footsteps and learn to skateboard. He held him and took him for a ride down the sidewalk, then Jordy wanted to try it himself. So Cole put him on and showed him how to stand and Jordy rode the skateboard down our driveway with Cole by his side to catch him if he fell. He is a natural, he bends his knees and holds his arms out, he has really good balance.
